Israel continues to shine big promoting renewable energy generation and strengthening sustainable development.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT / ENERGIA LIMPIA XXI. Israel continues to invest in the use of its renewable energy generation sources. Dr. Yuval Steintz, Israel’s Minister of Energy has reported that the recovery plan after COVID19 includes the generation of 2 GW of solar energy.
The spectacular Negev desert is one of those extraordinary sources for the production of solar energy, the Dimona solar project, located in this area, could generate up to 500MW. A report collected by Energía Limpia XXI highlights that the country expects to move from 1.2 GW of installed capacity to 2GW of solar energy through an investment of 1.8 billion dollars.
A relevant aspect is that last year Israel also inaugurated one of the largest and most modern solar thermal plants in the world, generating clean and safe energy for thousands of people.
