Nicaragua seeks to produce more electricity with volcanoes with IDB support


Nicaragua continues to promote actions to promote clean and safe energy at competitive prices.

ENERGIA LIMPIA XXI. A report by the Inter-American Development Bank on the various projects it finances in Latin America highlights relevant data on the progress of geothermal studies in Nicaragua. According to the report carried by Energía Limpia XXI, it appears that on August 21, the Ministry of Energy Mines opened the process to receive expressions of interest from consulting firms interested in carrying out the necessary Geoscientific Studies to complement the Pre-feasibility to determine the existence or not of a geothermal reservoir in the Cosigüina volcano in the department of Chinandega. The closing date for applicants is September 8 of the current year.
