
ENERGIA LIMPIA XXI. China is taking renewable energy to new levels announcing higher goals on climate change mitigation and energy generation. In remarks during the Climate Ambition Summit entitled “Building on Past Achievements and Launching a New Journey for Global Climate Actions”, President Xi Jinping stated the nations is projecting to generate 1,200 GW of energy using renewable sources such as solar and wind by 2030.
“First, we need to close ranks and make new advances in climate governance that features cooperation and win-win. In meeting the climate challenge, no one can be aloof and unilateralism will get us nowhere. China welcomes all countries’ support for the Paris Agreement and their greater contribution to tackling climate change”, the President said.
