Nicaragua promotes solar energy
As part of the Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology Week, a Forum on Photovoltaic Solar Energy Investments and Successful Business Experiences was held in Managua yesterday. The President of the World Network of Energy Efficiency of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), Cesar Barahona, participated in the meeting highlighting the progress made by Nicaragua and Central America on energy efficiency.
The use of photovoltaic systems in telecommunications, water pumping systems and small solar photovoltaic projects was discussed during the event. Experts from Spain, Honduras, El Salvador, Netherlands, Argentina and the United States also participated in the forum.
